History of the Location of the Project

The community was founded in the early 1900s and is known for its rolling hills, tree-lined streets, and historic homes. It was once home to several citrus farms and was even known as “The Citrus Capital of the World.” Today, San Fernando-Downtown is a popular residential area with a mix of single-family homes and apartments. The building manager of a story building of one of these residential properties contacted us recently for a roof replacement.

Reasons for the Roof Replacement

The building manager, Mr. Garfied, wanted to replace this roofing because the old roof was nearing the end of its lifespan. It was starting to leak, and the shingles were curling and fading. The old roof was not energy efficient and cost John and his tenants a lot of money on energy bills. Mr. Garfield also wanted to update the look of the property. A new roof would give the residential property a fresh, new look.

The Client’s Wishes

Mr. Garfield said he simply wanted a high-quality roof that would last many years. He also wanted an energy-efficient roof.

Stages of Work Implementation

The roof replacement project for the San Fernando-Downtown residential building was completed in several stages.

Stage 1: Preparation

The first stage of the project was to prepare the roof for replacement. This involved removing the old shingle roofing, fixing any damage to the underlying roofing deck, and cleaning the decking.

Stage 2: Installation

The second stage was to install the new roof. This involved laying down our own high quality new shingles, flashing around all of the roof vents and other openings, and installing a new roof cap.

Stage 3: Finishing

The third and final stage of the project was to add the finishing touches. This involved cleaning up the work area and removing any debris. Our team also tested the roofing and gutters to ensure they worked efficiently.

Materials and Technologies That Were Used

The following materials and technologies were used for the roof replacement in San Fernando-Downtown

Shingles: The new roof was installed with our asphalt shingles. These shingles are made from a blend of asphalt and fiberglass and are designed to last for 50 years. They were also manufactured to match the color of the building.

Flashing: The flashing around the roof vents and other openings was all made with aluminum material. This material is resistant to corrosion and will last for many years.

Roof cap: The roof cap used for the roofing was made from galvanized steel. This material is strong and durable and will protect the Shingle roofing from the elements.

Size of the Roofing Area

The total roofing area of the project was 1,800 square feet.

Benefits of the Re-Roofing To the Client

The client, Mr. Garfield, was thrilled with the new roof. It matched the color of the property and made it eye-catching. The new roof is a high-quality roof that will last for many years. Like all of our Shingle roofs, it is also energy-efficient and would help cut his energy expenses.
