Reasons for the Roof Replacement

Susan, the owner of a Porter Ranch residential building, decided to replace the roof for various reasons. First, Susan was worried about water damage to her house due to the old roof’s leaking during rainfall. She had plans to build a solar system, but the solar company had advised her to replace her roof first. Susan also wanted to install a new ventilation system because the old one in her house was ineffective.

The Customer’s Wish and Vision

Susan’s primary concern with her new roof was that it should be robust and high-quality. She also wanted a roof that would be energy-efficient and lower the energy costs for her house, especially during the summer. Susan also wanted a roof that would match the existing hue of the building and enhance the appearance of her house.

Stages of Work Implementation

The roof replacement project was completed in three stages. They include;

Preparation

Globusroofing roofers started by removing all the old roof parts, including insulation, flashing, and shingles. The roof deck and gutters were also cleaned and checked.

Installation

Our roofing experts installed the new roofing at this stage. The underlayment, a waterproof membrane that protects the roof deck from humidity, was first installed. After that, we installed put up the insulation and flashing. Eventually, the new ventilation system was installed.

Clean-up

After the installation, our installers cleaned up the project site thoroughly. They also examined the roof to make sure that it was installed correctly

Materials and Technologies Used

The project employed the following materials and technologies:

Shingle roofing:  This type of roofing material is made from small, overlapping pieces of asphalt-saturated felt or fiberglass. As it is long-lasting, inexpensive, and simple to install, shingle roofing is a common option for residential roofing.

Underlayment: Underlayment is a waterproof layer to keep moisture out of the roof deck. Asphalt felt or polyethylene is frequently used to make underlayment.

Flashing: Flashing is a metal or plastic material used to seal seams and joints on roofs. Leaks and water damage are reduced with the use of flashing.

Insulation and ventilation: Insulation aids in the summer and wintertime balancing of a home’s temperature. Fiberglass, cellulose, or blown-in insulation are the common materials used to make insulation. The new ventilation system includes fans to pressurize the home and force outside air into the building while leaking air through the shell, bath, range fan ducts, and multiple vents.

Size of the Roof

Susan’s house has a roof of around 2,000 square feet.

What Profit Did the Customer Get?

Susan was quite pleased with the outcome of her roof replacement project. The new roof is high quality, durable, and energy-efficient. She is no longer worried about leaks or water damage, a common issue among roofing in the neighborhood. Susan also likes how the new roof completes the appearance of her house. Thanks to the new roof, Susan thinks she will eventually spend less on energy costs.
