Background of the Location of the Roofing Project

Mission Hills is a historic neighborhood in San Diego, California. It was founded in 1870 by Father Junipero Serra, who established a mission there. Known as The Mission San Diego de Alcalá, it is the oldest mission in California, and is one of several stunning houses and structures in the neighborhood.

Reasons for the Project

Mrs. Linda, the client living in this Mission Hills neighborhood chose to have a new shingle roof installed on her residence because the old roof had started to leak. Her energy costs were also increasing since the old roof was no longer energy-efficient.

The Customer’s Wishes

Mrs. Linda wanted a new roof that was both visually appealing and functional. She desired a roof that would shield her house from the weather while being low-maintenance and energy-efficient.

Stages of Work Implementation

The installation of the shingle roof took place over several days. The previous roof was taken off as the first step. Given that the old roof was made of heavy concrete tiles, this task was difficult. The second step was installing the new roof after the old one had been removed. The new roof was made of high-quality shingles that were designed to be both durable and energy-efficient. The third and final stage was the cleanup of the worksite.

Materials and Technologies used while working on the Project

The shingle roof installation project employed the following materials and technologies:

Shingles: The new roof’s shingles were constructed from superior asphalt. These shingles were designed to be both durable and energy-efficient.

Flashing: This is used to seal seams and joints on roofs. The new roof’s flashing was made of lead-free copper.

Gutters and downspouts are used to collect rainfall and direct it away from a home’s foundation. Aluminum was used to make the gutters and downspouts for the new roof.

Roofing screws: Shingles are fastened to roofs using roofing screws. Stainless steel roofing screws were used for the new roof.

Roofing sealant: This material is used to fill gaps and seal cracks in roofs. The roofing sealant used for the new roof was made of silicone.

Size of the Roofing Area

The Project’s roofing covered 2,300 square feet in total.

Challenges Overcame while Completing the Project

The removal of the old roof presented the most significant obstacle during the shingle roof installation project. It was challenging to remove the outdated roof because it was built of thick concrete tiles. The weather presented another obstacle that was overcome. The Project began amid San Diego’s summer, which is a sweltering and dry season. The heat and dryness made working on the roof challenging.

What Profit Did the Client Get?

Linda, the client, was delighted with the brand-new shingle roof. The new roof was fashionable, worthwhile, and energy-efficient. Our installation experts predict that the new roof will result in annual energy bill savings of $1,000. The house will also gain more market value as a result of the new roof.
